Assistant Teacher - Toddlers (part-time).

The assistant teacher (guide) will implement and facilitate an environment conducive to a child exploring, discovering, and actively learning through play- deeply understanding the importance of routine and why collaboration fosters a beautiful learning atmosphere for children to grow.

We support our staff in their lives both at home and at work. We ensure a work environment where each staff’s chosen path is respected, valued, and celebrated. Our team will receive flexible scheduling (a 4-day work week) - you get a three-day weekend! There are many opportunities to grow and learn through education and personal development. Our team is provided training in Waldorf, RIE, and outdoor education after their probation period.

Successful candidates will enthusiastically engage our youngest learners and work collaboratively with colleagues and the parent community to create an educational environment aligned with Our school’s pedagogy, mission, and program goals. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Waldorf or RIE Education (not required), have experience working with young children, be committed to self-development, teach to the whole human being, and have open, direct communication with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

Guides/assistant guides must be reliable, professional, and willing to learn. A commitment to high standards in early care and education is essential. They are not afraid to get their hands dirty (we spend many hours outside daily with a lot of cleaning). Assist in delivering age-appropriate, nature-based lesson plans aligned with Forest School principles and the developmental needs of children ages 2-5. Ensure the safety and well-being of all young children during outdoor activities and excursions.

Pay Range

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour DOE
